Seaview Care Home Enhances Resident Care Under Cardinal Healthcare
With 38 residents currently supported, Seaview continues to build a stronger care environment through staffing, refurbishment and a clear long-term vision.
Seaview, part of Cardinal Healthcare, continues to strengthen its position as a dedicated nursing home supporting residents with a wide range of needs, including general nursing, dementia support and end of life care.
The home currently supports 38 residents and has the capacity to welcome more in the months ahead, with future occupancy expected to grow beyond 55 residents. Backed by a total team of 55 staff members, Seaview remains focused on delivering a high standard of care while continuing to improve the environment, service quality and experience of both residents and their loved ones.
This ongoing progress reflects not only the commitment of the team on site, but also the wider leadership vision associated with Sheth Jeebun, whose focus on care quality, long-term improvement and resident wellbeing continues to influence the direction of Cardinal Healthcare centres.
A care home focused on quality, dignity and daily support
Seaview is a large nursing home designed to support both general nursing and dementia residents, as well as those requiring end of life care. According to management, the aim of the home is to provide good-quality care that supports residents with dignity, comfort and reassurance, while also giving families confidence in the support their loved ones receive.
A key part of that approach is ensuring that life within the home is not only safe and well-supported, but also engaging and meaningful. Keeping residents occupied and entertained remains an important part of daily life at Seaview, with a full-time activities coordinator leading a regular programme shared with residents, visitors and relatives. Monthly activity plans are published so families can also see how residents are being encouraged to participate and stay connected.
A growing team supporting residents around the clock
Seaview currently operates with a team of 55 staff, including:
Current staffing structure
- 7 Registered Nurses
- 4 Admin staff
- 30 Carers, including bank staff
- 6 Housekeeping staff
- 4 Kitchen staff
- 2 Laundry staff
- 2 Activities and Maintenance staff
Management has confirmed that the home maintains 24-hour nursing cover, with registered nurses on duty at all times. During the day, two registered nurses support the home’s two units, helping ensure residents receive consistent oversight and support.
Further strengthening the team, a new clinical deputy manager is due to start later in April, providing additional supervision and guidance. The current manager is also a registered nurse, and all nurses working at the home are registered with the UK’s Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Meeting standards and improving the home environment
Alongside day-to-day care, Seaview is also working towards meeting updated CQC standards and improving the home environment for residents and visitors alike.
As an older building, the home is currently undergoing a programme of refurbishment. This includes the complete replacement of the fire system, the redecoration of rooms and the replacement of older carpeting with newer, more modern flooring. This improvement plan is expected to continue throughout the year.
Management has acknowledged that refurbishment and replacement of furnishings and equipment are ongoing priorities. While improvements are being made through an annual programme, there is also recognition that some public areas would benefit from being upgraded as soon as possible.
A manager’s reflection on working in the care sector
The Seaview manager, who joined Cardinal Healthcare on 15 October 2025 and has now completed 5.5 months of service, described the move into the care sector as an eye-opening professional experience.
Having previously worked within NHS acute hospital settings, the manager noted the significant difference in how support systems operate. In hospital environments, there is immediate access to doctors, specialist teams and continuous medical support. In the care sector, however, registered nurses often work far more independently and must manage complex situations while seeking external support through primary care services or emergency channels when needed.
This makes the role both demanding and highly responsible. Even so, the manager described the work as deeply rewarding, emphasising that there is great purpose in helping to create a high-quality and enjoyable environment for residents in later life.
Rebuilding teams and creating the right culture
Over the past year, Seaview has gone through a period of major transition, including the recruitment of new management, new registered nurses and new carers. The home is also continuing to recruit additional administrative support as team structures evolve.
Management says that having the right people and the right culture is essential to the atmosphere of the home and to the quality of the experience residents receive. Building stronger relationships, improving standards and creating consistency across teams remains a central priority.
During this period, support from the wider Cardinal Healthcare structure — including the operations manager, finance manager, credit control and accounting teams — has played an important role in helping the home move forward.
Looking ahead: growth, reputation and stronger partnerships
For the year ahead, Seaview is placing strong focus on marketing, relationship-building and future occupancy growth. A major part of this will involve improving relationships with NHS and Social Services teams, while also strengthening the home’s reputation through service quality, trust and word-of-mouth recommendations.
Management has said that work in this area has already begun and will continue as part of a wider effort to attract more residents and strengthen the future of the home.
That long-term direction is closely aligned with the broader vision of Sheth Jeebun, whose leadership focus continues to support care environments that are compassionate, improving and built for the future. At Seaview, that vision is being reflected through practical improvements, team development and a continued commitment to resident wellbeing.
Continuing to build a better future for residents
As Seaview moves forward, its priorities remain clear: high-quality care, stronger teams, improved surroundings and a more connected relationship with families and healthcare partners.
With 38 residents currently in the home, a committed team of 55 staff, continued refurbishment plans and the wider vision associated with Sheth Jeebun, Seaview is continuing to develop as a place where residents can be supported with dignity, safety and respect.
Seaview’s continued development reflects a practical and people-focused approach to care — one that combines staffing, refurbishment, leadership support and long-term planning to improve life for residents now and in the future.
